Visit from FAU Researchers to PROCER/EQA
From November 12 to 20, 2024, UFSC hosted two researchers, Ms. Hannah Kissel and Ms. Sena Harmancı, from the Institute of Biomaterials at Friedrich-Alexander-Universität Erlangen-Nürnberg (FAU), Germany, under the coordination of Prof. Aldo Boccaccini. This visit was part of the CAPES/DAAD PROBRAL bilateral project titled “Advanced Manufacturing of Multifunctional Scaffolds: Synthesis, Processing, and Biological Evaluation.”
The visit culminated in a seminar held on Tuesday, November 19, from 2:00 pm to 4:00 pm, in Auditorium I of the Department of Chemical and Food Engineering (EQA). The seminar featured presentations by Ms. Harmancı and Ms. Kissel on “Research Activities at the Institute of Biomaterials/FAU” and included participation from UFSC students and alumni who have engaged or will engage in the FAU-UFSC co-supervision (co-tutelle) agreement.
This collaboration currently supports 6 UFSC doctoral students at FAU and continues to strengthen ties between FAU and the Graduate Program in Chemical Engineering (PosENQ), the Graduate Program in Materials Science and Engineering (PGMAT) from UFSC. Discussions during the visit also explored future exchange possibilities to enhance academic and research integration.
